Right on, Amy! Is it short-story or novel-length?

it's short, short story, i guess you could say.

it's not really developed enough to be a story, but it does have some personalized psychological content/ set up for the characters. in other words, it doesn't instantly devolve into "ohhhh," "ahhhh," "fuck me!" but it does get there with fair rapidity. i wrote it purely to entertain myself, but realized it was quite good and does the trick.

i've always had the knack for writing this kind of thing, especially in high school. i was a pure girl with a dirty mind. (hey, don't steal that line!) fantasies of mick jagger and such with me as the glamorous star. anyway, i would use a pseudonym of course.

In my experience, erotica can be an easy sell; I've excerpted scenes from my novels and sold them as stories. The money wasn't great -- for an anthology, I've gotten $100 for a short story, $50 for a reprint. A magazine would pay more, I imagine.

I'd suggest finding a magazine that prints something similar to the piece you have written, then query the editor. Also, some small presses print erotica collections; you can find these in a bookstore or possibly online (though an online search in this area can turn rather ugly), then go to their website to see if they are doing any calls for submission.

Once you sell your first piece, you'll be able to get on editor's lists and find out what they are looking for, so subsequent pieces should be easier to market. Good luck!
