Re: September Writing Prompt
Mon, September 24, 2007 - 3:08 PMHi. I am new to this tribe. Can you give me the jist of the writing prompts? I would love to put on my thinking cap and write something different. Maybe it would help me relax and finish the book I am writing.=) -

Mon, September 24, 2007 - 3:24 PMWelcome, Mindy!
No real rules on these, but if you need a parameter on this one, how about three paragraphs that tell a story?
If you scroll down through the tribe's other topics you'll see a few other challenges, and you can feel free to jump in on those as well! -

Re: September Writing Prompt
Sun, September 30, 2007 - 10:22 PMThe alternate ending to Lewis's "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe"
Tumnus Redux
The tugging wasn’t a branch grabbing her sock. Lucy turned to see a pair of slightly furry hands wrapped around her ankles. It wasn’t menacing.
“Will you stop it!” She said above a whisper.
“I will if you agree to come back across to my side of things!” The voice, somewhat raspy and adult-like, replied.
“I’ve had enough of this. Let me go. Can’t you see that I am hiding?”
“If you come back with me, then you’ll hide exceptionally well!”
“No. I’ve had enough of this. You’ll just have to do on your own!”
“You have an entire world to rule and it’s not this one. Look at you. How unfit for a queen. Hiding in a pile of leaves. What foolishness is this?”
“I’m playing. So mind yourself and your manners.”
“Do you really want to be here? This place is so dreadful with all of those tall people walking around telling you to do this and do that. Like that ‘school’ business and those ‘chores’ and ‘bedtime.’ What is this ‘bedtime’ anyway?”
“Every time I go back to your side of things I end up in some mess. Battles, evil witches, endless winters, and talking Lions. This time I’m staying put. I’m rather keen on chores now. It’s not as complicated here.”
“You’re no fun,” he said. Tumnus let go of her ankles and let himself drop back across the threshold.
The rustling of leaves gave way to a pair of hands grabbing her shoulders.
"Found you sis."
