I was thinking about writing a book about someone who gets arrested for corresponding with an arab (in Sudan) on suspicion of terrorism. The themes are, mainly: paranoid governments, privacy v terrorism, alienation of potential allies etc. Has anybody read a book or short story with similar themes, story, idea etc. Also looking for similar real life examples if anybody knows of any.

    Hi again,
I've been giving your idea some thought.

I'm not sure if this happens to all males on TRIBE or whether I am just unusually lucky :-) but I have had some interesting mail since I have been here. They are from women who live in the Sudan. It is clearly a con of some sort. They have e-mailed me and asked in I could help them transfer sums of money out of their country. This could be a possible in for your main charactor.

If you would like to see the first mail I receive just let me know and I will post it to you.

Cool idea. I watch an excellent documentary (on HBO?) about the suppression of free speech and invasion of privacy mostly concerning the post 911 and red scare eras. I can't remember the name but ill try to find out, it might help, if not it was still pretty cool
