Okay, it is too quiet. Hopefully that means people are writing. What projects are on your desk right now? Anything promising?

Currently writing a new short story although it has the feel of "novella'. Suffice to say it involves a psychiatist-psychoanalyst, a crazy patient, other crazy patients and staff, and lots of profanity and coarse language. Oh yes, there are copious references to anatomy and what people do to each other or have done to them with anatomy.

On the other side of the desk I'm writing a paper for a presentation in Toronto in one month's time.

Within one week after spotting an anthology call for submissions and loving the editors' premise, I've written and (this morning) submitted the first story I've ever done with a specific market (and its universe) in mind. So I'll see how it fares!

Now it's back to my series, whose characters have waited patiently for me to finish with my little diversion...

Currently rewriting my very first novel, trying to get it over 50,000 words so that it meets submission guidelines for the small presses. Got two ms with my agent; one's in submissions (still!) and the other is waiting to be read.

I took a little hiatus from Tribe to work on my own writing. I'm worrying over a fictional memoir right now, and I made a good bit of progress, though I'd like to have gotten further in it than I did. I've been writing every day. The best days saw between 20-30 pages. The worst days were a struggle to get through one or two. But there now are a hundred pages or so that didn't exist a couple weeks ago, and the book is halfway finished toward an initial draft.

There's an historical novel I'd also like to work on, but the "memoir" piece is where the life is right now, so I have to go with that. We shall see.
