What is it with literary journals who say they won't print stories that mention the use of drugs?

Do writers not take drugs anymore? Have humans stopped taking drugs while I wasn't looking?

What's up with that?

Huh, really? That's pretty sad. Think of a world with out Ken Keassy (ya, I know that's wrong, shove it) and Tom Wolf. What kind of future Kafkas and Vonneguts are being denied publication based on controversial subject matter? isn't the greatest of art the inspection of controversy? Who are we to understand our world, our society or ourselves if we ignore what some might find distasteful or immoral. How dose one judge an action if one never examines it?
